How would I-140 approvals impact the availability of visa numbers and isnt spill over already happening,ie, removal of country caps, as we have seen last year,last quarter as well in July VB?
More I140 approvals (of those who have already filed their 485) means more 485 eligible to be adjudicated. Longer the queue and more efficient the USCIS is - slower the PD movement.

America does not need to do anything to get more workers. People will keep coming and it will always be a positive flow of good talent into America. Does anyone has recently got I-485 approval after porting priority date from earliar EB3 filing.
My I-140 got approved 2 weeks back and based on priority date, I am current. Ny EB3 485 was filed in July 2007.
How long it is taking for I485 to get approved after I-140 approval when the priority date is current.

It's destiny that I came across your posting.. like you, I am an RN waiting for the DS230 approval also since Oct.2006.. believe it or not ,I was also informed by the NVC to resubmit a new DS230 because the previous one I submitted last year was already outdated. Now, I sent them the updated DS230 last June 27,2007.
I really want to ask if in your opinion, or if you have some positive information regarding this…do we still have a chance of receiving an embassy interview and medical exam schedule before October 2007?
I would really appreciate a response.. thank you

When you have these news articles ready...one of the easiest way to circulate them is using a news wire agency.
I have used http://www.prweb.com/ before for my company news releases. It is free and if you want a broader reach pay $80. It is very effective.
It is a good idea to release it when something related to immigration is going on in senate or house. During this time, all major news network pickup articles from these wires based on keywords like "immigration, border issue etc"
So make sure you add appropriate keywords when you do the release.

Assuming the possibility that PD will be "unavailable" for the next few months at least, then on what basis do they allot visa numbers . PD or 485 receipt date
I believe Visa number is allocated only at time of Adjudicating i.e once everything is clear. At the time of adjudicating your PD should be current & you should be ahead of others per RD.

You will get EAD immaterial of I-140 approval...I got my EAD approximately in 3 months & my I-140 was approved after 9 months after filing ( this 9 month includes one RFE on my I-140)..
In short, You/your son will get EAD immaterial of your I-140 approval...
I am talking to my immigration attorney right now to get all paperwork filed concurrently.
My attorney say's EAD's are generally approved within 90 days. Will that be before my I-140 is approve or doesn't that matter?

I have got a PM from another IV member whose 485 got denied yesterday because of 140 revocation. He switched the job after 180 days and sent AC21 docs as well. He is willing to share his ordeal with us.

yabadaba, we will always have tough opposition when we try to do something. Your op-ed was very good and some people could not swallow it. You know some people can't imagine anyone from your country having good english! All these media efforts help us raise awareness, send our message across to the masses to counter anti immigrant propaganda. Due to our press coverage lawmaker offices too have started to take us seriously. Thanks to you and other IV members that are constantly helping this organization in media efforts, whether it is as small as writing emails, getting interviewed or writing articles.
