CF card speed does matter, particularly if you shoot RAW or use the motor drive. Even going from a 24X card to a Sandisk Ultra II was amazing. Stay away from the low write speed cards.

Hi,
I would like to apply for the H1B Visa. For the same, I would like to clarify whether I am eligible with the following education background (Basically I am looking for the 16Yrs education criteria)
1) Did schooling up to 10th (10 Yrs)
2) Did Diploma (3 Yrs, Full Time)
3) Total IT work experience is 9.10 Yrs
4) Did B.S ( Bachelor of Science -- 3Yrs - Work Integrated Course/Distance Edu)
5) Did M.S (Master of Science -- 2Yrs - Work Integrated Course/Distance Edu)
Please let me know whether I am eligible.

Folks,
I have a question about a new H1-B application while I-485 is pending. If I-485 is pending and the person is currently working on EAD with expired H1-B, is there a requirement that the person has to leave the country to apply for a new H1-B based on pending I-485? If yes, will it affect the green card process negatively?
My attorney says that as there was a gap in H1 status, one has to leave the country for a new H1 application, even though it is with the same employer.

Hi,
I am on the 8th year of my H1B. I have an approved I140. There is a chance that I may have to leave my current job, and there will be a gap before I obtain another job. Two questions:
1. Can I stay in the US just on an approved I140 and no H1B?
2. I know I can get my H1b transferred. Can I instead leave my current job, be on I140 for some time, and apply for a new H1B for the new job, still continuing the 8th year?

I just received my initial EAD and it is only valid for 1 year. My priority date is October 2006. Shouldn�t I have received an EAD valid for 2 years?

is your case eb2 or eb3? what nationality are you from? if you are eb2 india, then it could potentially mean that you might get GC within one year...

Hi All,
I have two questions as below:
1) My company announced that it was acquired by another company and the deal will be closed in early 2008.
My I140 priority date is Sept 21,2007 in EB2 in Texas SC. What should I be doing assuming my I140 will be approved in 6 months time, ie March 2008.
2)Also, my company is a Federal contractor working with the Federal organisation. All employees working for this contractor will always work for this Federal organisation no matter who the contractor is.In other words, the client remains same, but contractor changes.So if this Federal organisation gives this contract to any other comapny other than I am working with, how will my I140 processing be affected.

I am starting this thread for the people who are Greencard Holders and not married. Please share some thoughts for bringing their spouse here.
IV can help in this matter.
If all visa holders and citizens can bring their spouse instantly then why GC holder have to wait for many years after getting GC after many years.

I've received very good advice from IV members and hope to get this one sorted out here. My in-laws passed away within the last 2 years and wife's younger sister is stressed out. To cheer up we plan to bring her to US for 2 months. Her visa may get rejected for these reasons. No strong family ties in India since the parents passed away. She is an engineer (non-IT) but not employed and she is unmarried and no other siblings in India.
However she is a partner is her father's business and can show the documents as a proof.
What's the best way to get apply for visitor visa
1. I sponsor her visit, by sending bank statements, pay slips and employment letters etc.
2. She applies on her own and show her partnership documents, bank statements etc..
3. She goes through a travel agent like SOTC and book 10 day sightseeing trip and after which she could join us.
Obviously her sister being in US and no parents back home is a big red flag but we can't change that situation.
Any advice will be much appreciated.

Your H1-B visa (just an entry permit) remains active until expiration date.
