As of May 14, 2010, USCIS had received 19,000 cases against the regular H-1B cap and 8,100 cases against the Master's degree cap.
USCIS provides regular updates on the processing of FY2011 H-1B petitions. Hi,
I would like to apply for the H1B Visa. For the same, I would like to clarify whether I am eligible with the following education background (Basically I am looking for the 16Yrs education criteria)
1) Did schooling up to 10th (10 Yrs)
2) Did Diploma (3 Yrs, Full Time)
3) Total IT work experience is 9.10 Yrs
4) Did B.S ( Bachelor of Science -- 3Yrs - Work Integrated Course/Distance Edu)
5) Did M.S (Master of Science -- 2Yrs - Work Integrated Course/Distance Edu)
Please let me know whether I am eligible.

The big news is that the masters cap was hit as of December 24th. I had been predicting since last summer that this 20,000 quota would be hit in the last week of the year and the pace of usage stayed extremely consistent. The general quota has 7,700 visas of 65,000 remaining as of December 31st and the rolling four week average is now running at just over 1500. Hi all,
Following is a great post regarding how to decorate our properties with custom value pickers that allow you to more easily gain access to an element name. My requirement is to populate the properties in a combo box when the user picks an element using the custom value picker.

Hi,
My family had visited me way back in 2004 on a visitor visa. Due to unavoidable circumstances, they had to stay beyond the stipulated 6 months ( for 2 more months). We had requested the govt. for extension approval and it had been granted then.
We would like to have them visit us again by Nov of this year. However, when they went for the visa to consulate(last week), it got rejected, because the consulate person informed them that they had overstayed last time around.
I would like to know when can I legally apply for the visa again? And is there a way I could enhance my chances of an approval, rather than a rejection, next time I try. I am working on an EAD and my husband had filed for I485 for our family(I140 approved stage).
Any advise would be appreciated.

It seems USCIS has set a quota of �X� number of 485 applications till SEP �07.Once that quota reaches, dates will retrogress.
After that 485�s will be processed by PD and not by RD.

You can initiate the process for both of you individually. Means u can apply Labor, I-140 individually. After that while applying I-485 its advaisable to move with the lawyer suggestion. So till I-140 you both can apply individually.

I am a dependent on an I-485 application, with my father being the primary applicant. The application has been pending since 2001, so I decided to first threaten USCIS with a lawsuit, and then maybe file a writ of mandamus. My question is whether I have authority to do so as a dependent. Can I represent the whole family or at least myself? My father is leaving the country for some time and it will be hard for him to participate in the process.

Immediately, Senate Republicans went on the attack. For me it took 1.5 months. I visited the consulate to check the status. Typically you can check the status of your passport renewal from CGI mail room. They can tell you whether your passport is processed, mailed etc.
Unfortunately CGI Houston has very poor customer service. They won't answer your calls or reply to your emails.
